Enroll your personal or business Chase Card and get up to $50 Cash Back—$10 for every $150 in qualifying purchases.

Qualifying purchases made with your enrolled Chase debit or credit card (business or personal) include transactions made without using your PIN from 9/1 – 11/15/09 at MetroCard® Vending Machines, for EasyPayXpress™ MetroCard refills, LIRR, Metro-North, PATH and NJ TRANSIT fare purchases, and payments made at New York City Yellow Cabs. Chase reserves the sole right to make determinations of qualifying purchases for the fulfillment of the cash award for this promotion.

The cash award (maximum of $50) will be automatically posted as a statement credit to your enrolled credit card, or to the Chase checking account linked to the enrolled debit card by December 15, 2009. Purchase amounts will accumulate separately for each enrolled card. You cannot combine spend from multiple cards. If you earn rewards for multiple cards, please note that they may not all post to your account at the same time, but all credits will post by December 15, 2009. Your Chase account must be open and in good standing at the time of fulfillment.

How will I receive my Commuter Cash award?

Do I need to enroll my card in this promotion?
Yes, you need to enroll your Chase debit and/or credit card by November 15, 2009 to qualify for your cash award. If you enroll at the branch, all of your cards will be enrolled in this promotion. If you enroll online at chase.com/CommuterCash or at the ATM, you will have to enroll each Chase card separately. You are not able to combine spend between multiple enrolled cards.

What if I made purchases before I enrolled my debit card in this promotion?
No problem. All qualifying purchases from September 1 through November 15, 2009, will count toward the cash award, regardless of the date you enroll your card as long as you enroll by November 15, 2009.


I always select the "ATM/DEBIT" button at MetroCard Vending Machines, then enter my PIN when using my Chase Debit Card. Does that purchase qualify?
No. If you make purchases with your debit card and enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN) they do not qualify for the $10 Cash Award. Pressing "DEBIT" requires you to enter your PIN to complete the transaction. By pressing the "CREDIT" button, you can complete your transaction without entering your PIN in public and the money will always come out of your checking account and your purchases will qualify for the Commuter Cash promotion.

I normally pay for NYC Yellow Cabs with cash. How can I use my Chase card to pay for the fare and qualify for this promotion?
Nearly all NYC Yellow Cabs now have payment terminals that accept cards. So you can use your Chase Debit or Credit Card to pay for your fare inside the cab.

Are there any fees to participate in this promotion?
Chase does not charge a fee for enrolling your Chase card(s) in the Chase Commuter Cash program.

Can I combine the amount I spend on all my enrolled Chase cards?
No. Purchase amounts will accumulate separately for each enrolled card, you cannot combine spend from multiple cards.

I don't have a Chase debit or credit card. How can I get one?
Simply stop by your local Chase branch and a personal banker will assist you.
